Mary and Me and Synchronicity

I had the greatest pleasure to spend the afternoon with this wonderful woman, Mary. We hadn't seen each other since we met on an airplane, flying from Hawaii to Seattle 9 years ago! She was traveling in north Idaho this week, so had a chance to drop by for a few hours.

The number of things that had to go wrong that made it possible for us to meet all those years ago is astonishing. It all has to do with missed flights and nearly-missed flights and changing seats so that a daddy and young son could sit together and the sign-of-the-cross and a certain airplane security card. We got to be seatmates, then shared far too many laughs for perfect strangers. So we had to become friends. Synchronicity!

Our next meeting will be much sooner. We promised.
