Aren't I lucky to live in such a beautiful place?

I took my walk along the boardwalk in the late afternoon. The sun was beginning to lower in the sky, but had not yet reached the surrounding hilltops.

It was the sort of day that was warmish and partly sunny, but with a lot of gray in the sky and hovering over the water. The paint on the boardwalk was gray, chipped and peeling from the effects of the winter snow and ice that finally melted this week.

The sparkle of the sun on the water was lovely. There were few other people around, so it was easy to hear the water lap against the wood, the call of the gulls.
