I'm currently across the country, in Connecticut. My best friend is having some surgery tomorrow and asked me to be with her through this ordeal.
Over the 25+ years we've known each other, she has shown me incredible kindnesses. Mostly, she listens to me and believes me when I need listening to and being believed.
None of that was wasted on me.
I hope that now, I can reciprocate and be the friend she needs me to be for her.
