Macro Monday - Autumn Color

Macro Monday is easy to play,
snap a macro (or close-up) photo,
post it on your blog
then go to Lisa's Chaos
and sign Mr Linky.

Today was filled with shoveling snow. We've had over four feet of it. That's more than enough for me. But I hear more is coming, so it's time to shovel off the deck and the roof. Ugh.

I long for the soft days of ...

Late Autumn Color

The low-hanging leaves. The dappled shadows.

Brilliant oranges and yellows speckled with red
contrast with the gray-brown bark.

The cut out leaf edge, the mottled hues,
the glowing red stem, the spider veins.

Instead? Piles and piles of snow.
Beautiful from a distance.
But at macro level, it's just icy cold, wet and heavy.

It's easy to understand why these colorful leaves would be preferable to all that snow! Beautiful photos!

sometimes nature is so vibrant it looks fake... like can those leaves be any prettier and still be real?

These are great captures. Because I'm in CA, we still have some fall leaves.
