Red Hat Lady

My Ladies of the Evening series continues with this sweet coin purse. The red hat with purple bow is the ideal accessory for any woman in the Red Hat Society.  She is completely beaded on front and back.

The crown beads are sewn in horizontal rows. The purple ribbon beads are in vertical rows. The beads on purple bow are sewn in concentric ovals. And the brim has a random pattern of red beads. The way the beads are placed adds a lot to the design and to the sparkle.

Miss Red is 6 inches across at her widest point, and 3-1/2 inches from crown to brim. She is lined with a satiny fabric, and closes with a zipper in the brim.

This little lady is in pretty good shape. She has about 5 beads missing in the bow on the back of the coin purse (see the white oval in the second photo above). That should be fairly easy to fix, once I find the correct color of beads.

Red Hat Lady was hanging out at a Goodwill thrift store. She came home with me for only $2.99!
