to one of my favorite local parks. These photos are from last May.
Golden Gardens Park is about 1-1/2 miles from home.
Close enough to visit often and walk around the ponds.
Some folks stop by to fish. Swimming isn't advisable.
It's a breeding ground for the Western Pond Turtles. Sometimes I see them sunning themselves on the logs.
This fellow wouldn't let me pass him on the path.
He was busy guarding his young family.
So I turned around and took in more vistas.
Then crossed the channel of Amazon Creek that feeds the ponds
... and headed home.
