Outfoxed

One of the activities Dale and I participated in over the Birthday/Mother's Day weekend was putting a jigsaw puzzle together. Dale picked this 1,000 piece puzzle with an illustration by Charles Wysocki as our challenge.

I really enjoy these Wysocki puzzles. There's just the right amount of clues in each puzzle to make it fun. Enough signage. Enough buildings. Enough water. Enough brick and stone. Enough foliage. Enough people. Enough sky. There are varying levels of difficulty within each puzzle and the pieces go together in a logical order.

Plus, we're doing better all the time with the 1,000 piece puzzles. Unlike the 500 piece puzzles I gravitate to, these bigger puzzles generally take a bit longer to complete than my attention span.

The name of this puzzle tickles me. Foxy Fox Outfoxes the Fox Hunters. As you can see, while the hunt with horses and dogs is in full force at the top of the puzzle, Foxy Fox is taking a break under the stairs in the cool shade down by the stream.

Very sly of him.
