Eugene Park Tour: Filbert Meadows Park, part 2

Now that we've seen the landscape, let's take a look at the playground amenities at Filbert Meadows.

There's a nice large bark-covered play area complete a climbing structure, a teeter-totter, and swing set. Nearby are park benches and picnic tables so the grown-ups can have a comfortable place to keep an eye on the kids.

There's also a sand pit with fun structures like this playhouse. It's also got a water feature to keep kids cool as they splash in the summer heat.

Personally, I get a kick out of this brightly colored car.

Behind the playground is this basketball practice court that doubles as a performance space. The city built a berm that acts as an outdoor amphitheater. Very clever!

Tomorrow I'll share some of the tiles that are embedded in the walkways. Public art, however small, is a nice touch.
