Eugene Park Tour: Sladden Park

Back in early August, Dale and I headed out for another #traveltuesday park visit. After a nice lunch at our favorite coffee shop, we stopped by Sladden Park located near downtown Eugene.

This is another of Eugene's beautiful neighborhood parks with lots of amenities. First, it's a lovely setting with a long row of  tall Douglas firs providing great shade. The retro shape of the lamp posts reminded me of those in the neighborhood where I grew up.

There's a small disk golf course

A full-size tennis court

A two-hoop, full court basketball area

A great climbing structure for the littles. A teeter totter.

Two swing sets. One is standard. This one is cool because and adult and baby get to swing together!

There's also a nice sand pit with this fun sit-on digging tool.

There are several picnic tables and benches scattered around the park, as well as this wheelchair accessible table on a concrete pad.

The day we were there, Eugene's summer day camp hosted by the Parks and Rec department was in full swing. That day, the counselors had an art class and a tap dance class set up under the trees, and soccer nets set up in the grassy open area.

It's a lovely park with lots to offer. Quite a number of neighbors were enjoying the shade on a hot summer day.
